Kitchen Progress …and my new cows
and him….
I think the new additions look a lot like this guy down at the end of the road….my neighbor.
Don’t worry, you didn’t miss any big kitchen reveal. In fact, this is the status of the project as of yesterday. Primed and ready to be painted….and hanging in the garage. We are waiting on suitable weather conditions to finish the spraying.
My main goal all along with the project, was to update the kitchen while keeping costs at a minimum.
So far, so good..
My pop of color inspiration was determined when I picked up this clock that now resides over my mantel, at a local antique shop a few months ago. Since then, I have picked up a few bowls and cups to mix in with our existing white dishes that we use everyday. I picked up that blue tray at IKEA for lunch money.
My 8 year counter stools will be getting a makeover. Since they are in pretty decent shape, considering the abuse they get daily from my children, I am going to paint the base white and replace the vinyl cover to a grey fabric that I already have.
You can see what the counter stools will look like in the next photo.
My kitchen chairs also got a little refresh using the same color grey that I used in my island. The chair pads are from World Market.
I look forward to completing this project with much anticipation. In fact, when I am done ……You might even see me jump over the moon….with my cows.
So tell me, do you ever put the cart before the horse…or cow?

Love the cow picture!!
I keep thinking that my FIL who is a cattle rancher would laugh his butt off if I put a picture of a cow in my house!! (I may have to do it!) Oh I am so waiting on weather to change so I can spray my cabinets in the garage. I may have to roll the bases so they can get my range hood up and put the tile on. Your bar stools look cool. I have never recovered anything. Love that blue in your bowls, tray and clock.
I love your cows. Can't wait to see the whole kitchen when done. What a rewarding project!
Was the cow your inspiration? I am so excited to tackle some projects at home. I am finally inspired to get the house I want. Love what you're doing.
Oh Laura it is looking amazing! I love your cow. I call mine Bessie! She has not made it to above the the stove yet since I have her hubby Tex already in the kitchen. Can not wait to see the big reveal! You are working on fast speed!
Well, then I will just stand outside at night and watch the moon!
I can't wait to see your kitchen Laura, from the progress pics you can see it is going to be gorgeous!!! Loving all of the accessories you have too, especially that beautiful blue clock.
All the updates look wonderful so far. ๐
Wonderful hints Laura! I would like to paint our cabinets…we would need to have someone do them. Love how the white paint brightens and lightens.
That cow painting would feel right at home at our house.:-)
So glad to hear the kids and your husband are feeling better! And can't wait to see the final reveal!

It's going to be beautiful – you can tell already!
I know it's going to be awesome, Laura. Can't wait to see the reveal!
Hey Laura, since I have been to your beautiful home, I had to finally check this blog out! YOU MAKE ME TIRED!! But, I too, love the muted blue color scheme. I am about to go with a brighter blue, I think. Kinda scary, but I love bright! I don't know how you do it! Good luck, I will keep watching!
Will you share the name snd make of the grey color?
You are in the home stretch . . can't imagine how excited you are, as we are so excited for you!…Just love all of the sneak peeks of the decor…Glad to hear the boys are on the mend!
Cute cows! I don't have any in my area. I can't wait to see the reveal.
I am so glad all your men are feeling better. How did you bypass getting it?? Not that I wish you have by any means. Everything is really coming along and kudos to girl for doing such a great job. I have the same cow waiting to be placed in our kitchen. Love the picture too and the cow down the road is a beautiful color.

Glad the boys are feeling better:)
My horse is so before the cart I sold the horse since he never gets used to pull the cart.
Holy Cow! I can't wait to see your light and bright kitchen!
Cowabunga dude!

Loved seeing the progress you've made in your kitchen so far! The cows look great in there. Now that you don't have so much brown in your kitchen, you'll probably enjoy bringing in some brown accents to contrast with your white cabinets.
LOL- Oh yeah-Cart before the horse gal here for sure. I have been known to purchase things for the "next house" before we have even put the old one on the market. That's what happens when you move and rehab 14 houses. lol I LOVE your cow painting. It is a gorgeous piece of art work. I can;t wait to see the finished project AND YOU jumping over the moon!;>) xo Diana
Laura, so many pretties. Thanks for sharing. I especially love your cow painting. Where did you find it?
Everything is looking so pretty! I can't wait to see the full reveal.
Laura, I love your cows and can't wait to see your finished kitchen. I am sure it will be beautiful!
Hugs,
Sherry
Stomach viruses are the worst. Glad they are on the mend! There is a stomach virus going around here but we have been spared…so far! Can't wait to see the completed kitchen! I am sure it will be amazing!
