Monthly Recap for July at Top This Top That
Well it’s official……. the lazy days of summer with my kids are now over. My kids went back to school last Friday. Now I am about to enjoy the lazy days of summer by myself. No not really….well kinda sorta. But I sure will miss hanging out with these cuties during the day!
So I have been busy getting uniforms ironed, lunches packed and school supplies loaded in a semi truck the car. Is it me, but do the lists get a tad bit longer each year?
Don’t pass by that “something” that isn’t in your color….ever. There is always hope like this once upon a time teal clock that I painted here.
I am always amazed at the stuff that people put on the curb like this table that I cleaned off and painted .
I was thrilled that you came by for the 2013 Summer Showcase of Homes. If you missed it, I shared a few ‘never before seen’ rooms, including my family room that I recently finished.
My simple and uncomplicated summer mantle.
And my Jute vase or vessel…….. whatever you want to call it, tutorial here.
I hope you had a fabulous July and that August is even more fabulous!
Great projects and I love the picture of the children. Hugs, Marty
Look at those cuties!! I know they are loads of fun–such great ages!
The kids look so cute for the first day of school. I love that clock in the first shot. I would've had to buy it and then make it the right color too.

I'm a foodie, but I came over from BNOTP just to spread some blog love. The photo of your children is so lovely, it brought a tear to my eye. Beautiful children.
Oh, and I have acquired some very nice things that people have just thrown away. Everyone comments on a huge flowerpot that someone moved and just left at the dumpster.
Wow can't believe your kids are already gone back to school. My baby leaves for college in just 2 weeks for the first time. Hard changes going on in this house for sure! Love the projects you did this month.
Have an awesome day!

Visiting from BNOP. Wow, school so early! Adorable first day pic! Love your summer projects.
Love the picture of the children. Mine are now 25, 27 and 29yo. Boy in the middle of two girls. It brought back a lot of memories. 🙂 Dropping by from Met Monday.

What beautiful children you have Laura, but that doesn't surprise me.
That clock is awesome, and don't you just love the simplicity of using jute to give an ordinary piece great texture?
It was such a pleasure to meet you this weekend, and I'm so grateful for all your words of wisdom and advice. I have A LOT of work to do! 😉
What a wonderful recap, Laura, and your kiddos are so darned cute I can't stand it!!! xo Diana
Your kiddos are just too cute! Hope their first day back went well. You have shared so many amazing ideas in July. I love them all.
Such sweet babies … hope they're enjoying school and that you're enjoying your free time! I love all of your summer projects … still want to come hang out in your family room … your denim sofa keeps calling my name! I'm so glad I got to see you again at Haven … had a blast catching up and hope to see you again SOON!
Where did summer go? I love your summer mantle. Good luck with back to school 🙂 Jennifer
Loved the recap Laura. Your home is beautiful. It was so nice to meet you at Haven and get to hang out. Thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the Google Juice session and you making Court turn all shades of red! Definitely will remember that forever 🙂
I thought we had very early "start ups" for school here, but you beat us by a couple of days — it was this past Monday for us. I don't actually have children at home anymore, but I love watching the kiddos walk past our house in the morning and afternoon — my "Momma-Cave" has the only window facing the street! Your little ones look so cute in their uniforms! Great recap, Laura.
I am really impressed from this post! The person who created this post is a generous and knows how to keep the readers connected.Thank you. Please keep on posting.
