My Heart is Broken

I wanted to let you know that my family experienced a tragic loss late last week. My twin sisters daughter Jessica who was 22 years old, died from injuries sustained in a car accident. These have been the hardest days of my life and my grief and sadness is just so overwhelming .

 

I want to truly thank those who have offered prayers to me to my my family. The amount of support and prayer has been so comforting and such a blessing. I ask that you continue to pray for us and in particular my sister, my brother-in law and Jessica’s sister as they get through this very, very difficult time.
I hope to share more with you about this beautiful soul that was taken from us way to soon, when I return next week. Until then, hug those around you a bit more then you did yesterday!

  25. No words can express my sadness for your sister's, your and your family's. I lost my daughter after 15 years of brain tumors 7 years ago. There is no way to explain the grief of losing a child. It is something you never get over. . . .it just becomes a part of who you are.

  28. While loss is never easy, one so unexpected and way too soon in a young life holding so much promise, seems to be inconceivably difficult to accept. Prayers for and your family that you find peace and are able to carry her memory with you for comfort.

  43. I am so sorry for your family's loss. WE lost my brother in law last week as well very quickly and unexpectedly and it is difficult to wrap your heart around but knowing that others are praying does help.

  46. Laura, I am so sorry to hear this. What a beautiful girl she was. We lost a hometown girl 7 months ago at the age of 14. She played basketball with my Granddaughter and if fact the ball team was there when it happened. I did a story about her on my blog. May God wrap his arms around your family and hold on to you all.

  52. My brother and his wife lost their daughter in a car/semi wreck. She was on her way to a concert where her boyfriend was going to propose. That seemed similar to your heartbreak. I'll be thinking and praying for you.

  57. Oh, Laura- I am so very, very sorry for you. The pain is almost unbearable. Our 16 year old nephew was hit and killed by a drunk driver several years ago and the pain is still palpable. My prayers are with all of you as you go through the upcoming hours, days and weeks. Blessings- xo Diana

It is sometimes impossible to understand why the Lord allows such things, but we must at that time totally throw ourselves at His feet and ask for His comfort and strength as He helps us through the new journey.
