Typography Canvas Art For The Family Room
Today I am excited to show you some inexpensive Typography canvas art that you can do for your home…today. Walk into any home store or open up most catalogs and you will find tons of typography canvas. Love the look, just don’t love the price. I also like that I can have a canvas that says exactly what I want it to say.So I thought about an easy way to create a piece of art that would reflect how we feel in our home….love.
So to give me one more reason to smile when I walk into a room filled with so much laughter, joy and couch cushion crumbs, I made this wall art to symbolism who and what exactly lives here…. love lives here.
How to make Easy Canvas Art
To create easy canvas art you need the following items:
Canvas board
Chipboard letters
Paint for your base coat
Paint for your lettering
Pencil
Sandblock – optional if you want to distress around the edges
Steps to create easy canvas art:
Paint the background of your canvas board and let dry completely
Position your letters on the board and trace with a pencil
Use a pencil and trace around the letters
Fill in with paint and let dry completely
That’s it. Now go and create and love your new artwork.

A house filled with so much love.
That is cute. Now go clean up those crumbs.
Oh..you can tell by the atmosphere of your beautiful home and the wonderful stories of your family, that "love lives there"!….Now, can't wait to see a project with those Composite Propane Cylinders!
I love the art, Laura. I can totally relate to never controlling what is on tv anymore! Now I'm going to be singing the Chugginton song for the rest of the day. lol
Love the bright pop of happy color, Laura! And what a great idea to trace around chipboard letters. Totally going to try that! Ummmm… What's a TV? 😉
Crazy but – hands down – best time of our, and their, Life.
And a second opportunity in being a child, a teen… again.
love the color! love the idea! and absolutely love your description.
It's beautiful, and I love your little story with it. I remember those days.
Debbie 🙂
Love this idea for some college theme rooms…thank you!
Turned out excellent.
Hey, this week I visited a crayon factory and watched a man hand make mouth harps all from the comfort of my bed.
Bliss
LOVE it! Get it? 🙂 Linda
I think that's the best use of those chipboard letters I've seen. Great idea and now I have some ideas bouncing around in my head … 🙂
Wonderful reminder when the crumbs are taking over and the remote is far away 🙂
Are you going to Haven this August? (I hope so.) I had such fun last time and enjoyed meeting you in person. I'm looking forward to going again this year.
So cheerful! It is a good motto to live by.
Yes,Laura. I do have a question(or two), as I WILL be making this, like right now…How big is the canvas? Why have I not heard of Chip Board Letters, and why it is better to trace and hand paint, then to paint said letters and affix them to the canvas? What size are those letters? and…..What is the name and brand of the paint you used, please?
Thank you, 😀
