Holiday Living room – kinda like Greenacres
Note: If you watched TV from 1965 to 1971 you will probably appreciate today’s post. If not, you will have absolutely no idea what I am talking about but can still enjoy the pictures.
Remember the show Greenacres? You know, Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor. The couple who moved from New York City to a rural country farm?
My life is a bit like that show.
My life is a bit like that show.
In fact it can easily be the sequel.
The living room in all it’s glitz and glamour and the roosters crowing outside.
Greenacres is the place for me. Farm livin is the life for me. Land spreadin out so far and wide. Keep Manhattan just give me the countryside. New York is where I’d rather stay……

In some ways my life tree in the living room this year could easily belong to Oliver and Lisa Douglas in their small little country town of Hooterville.
My husband is not a lawyer like Oliver, but does drive a tractor.
Just like Lisa, I too was a city girl who moved to the country.
I don’t like to cook, but I won’t throw dishes out the window and luckily we don’t drink coffee.
And just like Haney’s place we awake to the sounds of roosters each morning and get out to do our farm chores, although unlike Oliver you won’t find my husband bush hogging in a three piece suit.
We have neighbors similar to Fred and Doris with the exception of any talking pigs named Arnold, although I think their dog may watch TV and play the Wii occasionally.
We also have a postmaster, newspaper editor, store clerk, sheriff and preacher and they are all the same person! Unfortunately, unlike the rest of Hooterville, we don’t expect a refund without paying our taxes.
I must admit, I love my simple little country life and there’s not much I would trade for it, but a Penthouse on Park Avenue sure sounds sweet!
….. I get allergic smelling hay. I just adore a penthouse view.
Darlin I love you but give me Park Avenue.
It’s not exactly Park Avenue but you can see more of my

My heart stopped beating when I saw your wall of clocks. Love that! Beautiful room! Better than Lisa could've ever done. 🙂
Let me start with the fact that I watched that silly show {in reruns, afternoons after school} and I was singing the tune in my head as I read your post 🙂 Ditto the love for your creative wall of clocks. Also love the "words" ornaments and overall holiday decor, sweet, simple, warm. And you really don't drink coffee?!?!

I love this post. Your house is so fabulous. Big cities are wonderful to visit, but if I could, I would rather live in a small town 🙂
