Southern Fall Porch Tips
Southern Fall Porch Tips
Keep it cozy
Keep it simple
The use of mums, corn stalks and pumpkins keeps the decor down to a minimum, while still giving that fall feeling on the porch. Don’t over due it. Fall is about simplicity and enjoying what nature provides us.
Use what you have
Other then the mums, I used everything I had around to decorate to the porch. The corn stalks were from the garden that I tied in a bunch with heavy duty gauge wire. I then used some ribbon to tie a pretty bow around the stalk. I scattered some leaves in between the stalks.

Your southern porch is just gorgeous! Thank you for the sweet comment about my Fall dining room! Have a gorgeous day enjoying your porch!
Wow, just gorgeous Laura! Some times I wish I was way out in the country where I could find my own grapevine to twist into a wreath…so I just pretend I am. I love that I can hear your actual voice now when I read your post!
Your porch is just beautiful, Laura. I love all the southern touches, right down to your beadboard ceiling!
Closest store is 32 miles? How nice to get free pumpkins. Still haven't bought any. We made our own grapevine wreathes, too out of vines in the back several years ago. Your porch looks great. I need to go to Walmart and buy some pumpkins and mums.
I love your Southern porch, Laura! What a welcoming entry. I love everything about it.

Laura, I love everything about your front porch. I don't think I'd ever get off of it if I ever came to sit a spell!
Laura, thanks for the kind words. Inspiration??? are you kidding me with this porch??? You have 3 small ones and have the time to do all this?? Thanks, but I will stick to my measly furniture painting! lol
Mind if I pop over to escape for a spell? This space rocks… I'm seeing lots of bottles of wine and cups of coffee enjoyed here. π

Laura…your porch is truly a magnificent Southern Porch…I can just hear the crickets now … as you sit there in the evening talking about your local football teams and sipping that "warm drink"… How nice to have a neighbor with beautiful pumpkins and your very own grapevine…now, only if you had a cotton field then all would be perfect!!….Love all of your beautiful fall decor!
Oh, Laura, your front porch is so beautiful and very inviting to sit and do a bit of sipping something!
So which do you prefer….Harvest Mule, Figgy Flip, or Autumn 75?

Great post and beautiful porch! You are correct we are outside all the time…swinging on the front porch or gathered around the table eating dinner on the back porch! How can you not with all this beautiful South around us π Thanks for sharing.
I just love your big porch and the fall trimmings too. It is reminding me to straighten up my own after being too hot to use this summer.
I love your Southern porch too … but 32 miles for a gallon of milk. You really do need to plan out that shopping list carefully!
