Go ahead, I dare you !
If I were to give you directions to my house it would sound something like this…..
Come in town. Head down Main Street 2 miles. At the Piggly Wiggly go left. Go 1/2 mile down, turn right. Go to the little white church, go right. Turn down the dirt road and keep driving.
Go around the bend but watch out for the rabbits and deer. Turn slightly up the hill until you see
The Big John Deere.
Mailbox that is.
Yupper, my mac daddy of a mailbox is the envy of every man, women and child in this town. Postmen from miles away come to deliver the mail and just stare as they put the Pottery Barn and J.Crew catalogs in the box. Bored punks teenagers out mailbox bashing (ps- go out and get a real job), skip my house cause they know my tractor mailbox can withstand the swing of their bats .
Thanks largely to….
a 3 foot pole dug into the ground and secured with 2 bags of concrete. Yup, that will teach any youngin who’s up to no good to swing at this mailbox.
So go ahead, I dare you. I double dare you.
And if you do, I sure will feel sorry for your bat.
And if you do, I sure will feel sorry for your bat.
PS- See how I transformed the mailbox here.
Very cute! I sure hope no one tries to take it down with a bat. We live in town so we don't have that problem. Cute post!
from one country girl to another….. i love it! 🙂
Hahahahahaha. How cute a John Deere mailbox. I drive a John Deere, too.
Soooo cute. I'm gonna have to show my hubby this one. He may even frame a picture of it…LOL
I love it! My husband would absolutely go crazy over a mailbox like this!
Laura…you are so funny!!…My friend would love that mailbox, as he has a John Deere weathervane on top of his special shed that looks like a cute little cottage where he houses his beloved John Deere….and tell those punks that mailbox bashing is a Federal Offense!!…
Cute mailbox!!
Great looking mailbox. MyHero would love one just like it. We don't worry about bats and teenagers here- we worry about the SNOW plows!;>) xo Diana
Your pictures are beautiful and your mailbox is very cute. Blessings, Diane Roark http://www.recipesforourdailybread.com
We have the John Deere cookie jar to match your mailbox 🙂 Wish we could have a mailbox with spunk in suburbia. Maybe I can decorate our little metal box with some sequins, I don't think anyone would mind…
xoxo, Tanya
I envy your rural road… and that mailbox cracks me up! We're so tired of the crush that is life in ATL. Complete with mischievous mailbox bashers. 🙂
Such a fun mailbox!
I <3 it!
I am completely in love. If i didn't live in a town that only has PO Boxes I would start building one just like this TONIGHT! I blog over at http://www.2crafty4myskirt.blogspot.com/ Every Friday I feature a fellow crafter. I would LOVE to feature you and this project in an upcoming Friday. If you are interested please let me know toocraftyformyskirt@hotmail.com
Note to self – don't mess with Laura, she's one ornery mailbox loving country gal!

My mailman already hates me. Okay, that's not fair. He hates everyone. If I put a John Deere mailbox out front he would probably refuse to put my mail in it and just leave it on my front stoop … in the rain.
🙂
Love it!
Linda
This is too stinking CUTE!!! Did you make it or buy it? I would love to have one for my Brother who is in the process of decorating his entire house in all things John Deere. He lives in town but would find SOMEWHERE to put it. Heck he'd probably put it out at the road despite having a P.O. Box. 🙂
I can appreciate the problem you face. What is it with bored teens and mailboxes? They bash them. They blow them up. My mother dreams of having a large net drop down on their car. I'd like to see mail boxes that shoot out a dye packet as they explode. Explain that to mom and dad. I take it this mail box will not lose all the fine details if attacked with a bat?
That is an AWESOME mailbox!!! So well done ~ are you going to post a tutorial?? Please? 😉

Wildly Original linky party is open.
Oh my goodness I am so glad you stopped by! I love this post honestly I could have written the same thing to my house :O) Love that mail box but I gotta tell you our mail-man is a stinker too and what's up with the brat teenagers and mail boxes anywho! (oh and I agree…ps- go out and get a real job)
Thank you for the nice comments my new found friend!
Terry
I know MY husband would love it (except it would need to be IH red) I will have to show him yours!
We used to have mailbox bandits here, but I think it eventually ceased when the kids that were doing it grew up, or they realized that the mean teacher that lived here doesn't anymore. Either way, I'm glad it's stopped.
When I lived in the country I lost 3-4 in the 12 years we were there. The first was a fancy one then you learn and I just got cheap ones. The last we couldn't find after they hit it! A few days later we found it in the woods across the street. They took it out of the ground and threw it there!!!
This is so fun! I LOVE it! I would love if you would share this at my Crazy Cute Party happening right now! I've got a totally awesome giveaway that you could win just for linking up! Come on over! ;D
