Super Simple Cake Plate
After discovering my sister needed a cake plate, I headed to the local thrift store to pick up a few items to make her one. This is a super simple cake plate that will cost you a lot less to do it yourself then to buy a brand new one in the stores.
Basically you need a base and something for your cake or treat to set on. For this project I used a candlestick and a plate . You can use whatever size you want for your plate, but just make sure that your base can support it. It felt like it was my lucky day when both items cost me less then $2.00.
I used some E6000 adhesive (found at your local hardware store), between the bottom of the plate and the top of the candle holder. This stuff is pretty strong, so make sure you have it exactly where you want it to be secured. Make sure to level the base onto the plate so it’s even…sister doesn’t want wonky cake plate. Let it dry overnight.
Next day……. sister has a cake plate!
Super simple cake plate…told you.
Here’s another idea for a cup cake stand idea using a terra cottaa saucer.
I love this idea… but once again I'm wondering why I don't ever find anything like an Anthro candle holder at the thrift store! 🙂
Too cute. Great deals on the plate and candle holder!!
Happy weekend to you.

super simple and easy! I have two glass cake plates, but I've been wanting a whiteware one, this could fit the bill nicely!
